Proeski, was born in Prilep, Republic of Macedonia, to Dominika and Nikola Proeski from Kruševo,
his hometown, where he spent most of his childhood. He raised in Kruševo. After his musical talent
was discovered at the age of 12, he was chosen to perform at the popular children's song festival
Zlatno Slavejče in Skopje. his was his first public music performance; however, his successful
career began in 1996 when he participated in the teenage music festival Melfest in Prilep.
To improve his singing, Proeski took classes in New York from maestro William Riley, who was also
coach to famous tenor, Luciano Pavarotti. When he returned, Proeski held humanitarian concerts
throughout the Republic of Macedonia. He was awarded with the Mother Theresa Humanitarian Award and
in 2003 he became a Regional UNICEF Ambassador.
In 2004, MKTV chose Proeski to represent Macedonia at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul,
Turkey, and in February, he performed eight songs, where a jury, televote, and his own opinion chose
the song. The song "Angel Si Ti" ("You’re an Angel") was chosen by all three. In April, Proeski
released his album "Den Za Nas" ("A Day For Us"), which featured the eight songs from the Eurovision
selection in Macedonian.
Immediately after Toše Proeski's death was announced, the citizens of Skopje and people from all
around Macedonia, as well as foreigners, started to gather at the Macedonia Square bringing candles,
flowers and messages of condolence in his memory. Also many institutions such as schools,
universities, sport clubs and business companies joined the spontaneous commemorative campaign.
Similar gatherings took place in many other cities around the country, but also in Croatia, Bosnia
Hercegovina ,Serbia and many other countrys. A mourning ceremony was organized in Sarajevo, Bosnia
and Herzegovina near Skenderija, where around 2000 people gathered to light candles in memory of
Toše Proeski.

On 16.10.2007 at 6.30 morning Toše Proeski died in a tragic car accident on the Zagreb-Lipovac
highway near Nova Gradiška. The promising singer and songwriter was only 26 years old.
The popular artist from FYR Macedonia was reportedly in the car with his manager Ljiljana Petrović
and Georgij Georgijevski who are alive. Toše's car crashed into a lorry due to speeding and he was
killed before medical help arrived.
Toše Proeski, born on 25 January 1981, rose to stardom in croatia , bosnia hercegovina,serbia and
many other countrys, he was very popular both for his artistic merit as well as for his humanitarian
work. Toše represented FYR Macedonia in the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest.
The parliament of FYR Macedonia has suspended their works for the day. The day of Tose's funeral is
yet to be announced. Tomorrow, Wednesday 17 October will be declared a day of national mourning for
his homeland.
We will remember him forever.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
